Marakkar: Priyadarshan said, “I was worried about how even a hit film like Kilukkam would reach the audience.”
Just two days before the release of Mohanlal starrer Priyadarshan starrer Marker, the director himself is sharing his belief about the film. Priyadarshan said there is no tension over how the audience will get ‘Marakkar‘ and this is the first time in his career that the film has released with so much confidence after ‘Chitra’.
He was speaking at a press conference in connection with Marakkar’s release. “There is no tension in Markarkar’s case. I hope the audience will like this film. A day before the release, when Lal and I got into our car after watching the film, Lal told me that the film would be a feather. your hat. I was apprehensive how the audience would accept all other films, even hit films like Kilukkam. It was a film that released without any fear. After that Marker is one such film which will release without any fear’ – said Priyadarshan.
Mohanlal and Antony Perumbavoor joined Priyadarshan at the press conference. Mohanlal said that ‘Marakkar‘ will release in ODT after its theatrical release. He said the controversy over the film’s release was unnecessary. Mohanlal said the controversy started when Marker had not decided where to drop him. He clarified that the film was not given to the ODT platform and after the contract was signed with ODT it was decided that it would be a theatrical release.
The film, which was announced for release by OTD, was agreed to release in theaters amid much controversy. Maraikar is the 100th most expensive film ever made in Malayalam cinema. Mohanlal starrer Priyadarshan starrer has already won the National Award.
The film took two and a half years to complete. Apart from Mohanlal, the film also stars Manju Warrier, Arjun Sarja, Prabhu, Keerthy Suresh, Pranav Mohanlal, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Suhasini, Suniel Shetty, Nedumudi Venu and Fazil.
