The much-awaited sequel to the 2014 hit Ek Villain, Ek Villain Returns will now hit the theaters on July 29, 2022. The film was earlier scheduled to release on July 8. Ek Villain Returns-series was jointly directed and produced by T and Balaji Telefilms. Helmed by Mohit Suri, John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor, Disha Patani and Tara Sutaria are in lead roles.

Director Mohit Suri had earlier said in a statement, “Ek Villain was my passion project and a labor of love. The kind of love I still get for Ek Villain, it overwhelms me. I am sure the love is going to grow bigger with Ek Villain Returns. And while I cannot reveal much about the film, I can assure that it is going to be an exciting rollercoaster ride.”
In a conversation with Indianexpress.com, the director said. “Girls are also playing the role of villains in this film. Me and Ekta are trying to make a whole series of villains and different characters who are intertwined.
Mohit Suri has directed films like Half Girlfriend, Aashiqui 2, Murder 2, Zahar and Kalyug. Ek Villain Returns is John Abraham’s first collaboration with the director. Arjun Kapoor has previously worked with Mohit in Half Girlfriend. Disha Patani played the lead role in Mohit’s last film Malang.
After the stupendous success of the 2014 action thriller Ek Villain: There One in Every Love Story starring Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh, director Mohit Suri is all set to deliver a sequel.
It will be a spiritual sequel called Ek Villain Returns and the story will be completely different from the previous one, which depicts a serial killer who murders a young woman and later her husband takes revenge on the killer.
The upcoming film will be produced by renowned filmmaker Ekta Kapoor, her mother Shobha Kapoor under her banner Balaji Motion Pictures along with Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar under her banner T-Series.
Cinematography in the film is handled by Vikas Sivaraman.

The makers held the wrap-up party of the film in Mumbai last night. The major star cast had gathered together except for John Abraham, director Mohit Suri and producers Bhushan Kumar and Ekta Kapoor.
